How accurate are ovulation tests?

Provided you use the test kit at the recommended time and test correctly, the chances of missing your LH surge every month will reduce. The test kits are highly sensitive, so it will be easy to detect the LH hormone in your urine specimen at the standard level (25mIU/ml) as recommended by the TGA. Besides, the test process is easy and less messy, even if you don't have a urine collection cup to get the test specimen.

Therefore, buy this fertility kit with ten ovulation tests and one pregnancy test to make your conception process easier. We offer chemist-quality fertility products at affordable rates.

Do ovulation tests help you get pregnant?

Our easy at-home ovulation midstream tests are designed to detect the presence of the luteinising hormone in urine. This hormone increases dramatically halfway through the menstrual cycle, triggering the ovaries to release an egg. This means that if you get a positive result showing an LH surge, ovulation will occur in the next 24 to 48 hours.

A positive test will predict the most fertile days of your cycle, helping you schedule sexual intercourse accordingly to increase your chances of conceiving. Note that an egg can be fertilised only within 6-24 hours after ovulation, so knowing the fertile window is vital.

Although most women trying to conceive can easily identify their LH spikes using ovulation predictor kits, some women can experience consistent negative or positive LH test results because the hormone levels are higher or lower than usual. If this is the case, tracking the luteinising hormone result pattern is essential to determine if there's a menstrual cycle problem. This will make it easy to know if there is an underlying problem that needs to be addressed by a healthcare provider.

Ovulation test: Get the most accurate reading

As mentioned earlier, ovulation midstream tests come with easy-to-follow ovulation test instructions. But before you can test, it's essential to familiarise yourself with the basic instructions that apply regardless of the test kit you use. For instance, you should avoid using the first-morning urine for this test.

To get reliable results, you should collect your urine between 8 am and 10 pm since this is when the levels of LH hormone are high. Also, remember to avoid taking too much water or drinks 2 hours before collecting a urine specimen for the test. This way, you will ensure your urine is not diluted. Remember to test simultaneously every day until you get a positive result.

How to perform ovulation test

Our ovulation tests are super easy, so they have been rated the best ovulation test in Australia.

  • Remove your ovulation test kit from the pouch, and pull out the cap.
  • Hold the device with the arrow pointing downwards, not touching the absorbent tip.
  • Direct the absorbent end into your urine stream for about 15 seconds, and make sure the urine does not get to other parts of the device, especially the test control window. If this sounds hard, you may urinate onto a clean urine collection cup or dry container and then dip the absorbent tip into the sample for about 15 seconds.
  • Put the cap on, lay the device flat, and wait 10 minutes to read the results. A positive result will occur within 40 seconds, but waiting until the reaction is completed (at 10 minutes) is advisable to get the correct result.

If there is no LH surge, you'll only see one colour band appear on the control region, or the test band will be lighter than the control line. If the results are positive (meaning there is an LH spike), you will see two colour bands and the test line will be darker than or equal to the control band. This means you're likely to ovulate in the next two to three days and should start having sex if you want to conceive.

Why the additional home pregnancy test device?

This fertility kit has an extra pregnancy test kit to help you check if you are pregnant. Our pregnancy midstream test checks for the presence of the pregnancy hormone or human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in your urine sample. The hCG hormone levels usually increase after implantation, so when you test a week or two later, you should be able to confirm if you conceived after having sex during the fertile window.

The midstream pregnancy tests are designed to make the pregnancy journey easy. When you buy, you will notice that they are easy to use and provide accurate and reliable results. All you have to do is use the first-morning urine to do the test and wait for the results as instructed, and Results may be observed after 1 minute. Do not interpret test results after 5 minutes.

The device is sensitive to 10mIU/ml of hCG, meaning it can detect the hormone 5-7 days before your expected period or after missing periods. All tests are wrapped individually to increase longevity and ensure you get the right results after testing. Ensure you do not touch the absorbent tip when testing or unwrap the device when ready to use it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What determines the accuracy of the pregnancy tests?

The accuracy of at-home pregnancy tests varies from one woman to another because of:

The length of the menstrual cycle and ovulation days can change every month.
The day of implantation after the egg is fertilised is not always known.
Every pregnancy test brand has different sensitivity for finding hCG hormone.

Only a few home pregnancy tests are sensitive enough to detect pregnancy before missing periods, so we recommend buying our brand because the results are guaranteed.

When Is the Best Time to Take a Pregnancy Test?

Most home pregnancy tests you will find today can be used a day after missing your period, and others require you to wait a few more days to get accurate results.
You will not need to wait this long when you use our pregnancy test because they can offer results as early as five days before the expected period date. Make sure you test using your first-morning urine because the pregnancy hormone is more concentrated in such a sample.

Why is it vital to know my cycle length before using an ovulation predictor kit (OPK)?

The ovulation schedule varies according to an individual’s cycle length, so if you wish to know when you are most fertile, you must understand your menstrual cycle. The best way to work out the cycle length is by counting from the 1st day of your period to the last day before the next menstrual bleeding starts. Cycle lengths differ from one woman to another and cycle to cycle, but they range between 23 and 35 days long.

Why have I been ovulating late?

The length of menstrual cycles varies, but most women get ovulation 14 days before their periods. This means that if you have a 28-day cycle, you will ovulate around the 14th day. If your cycle is 30 days long, you will likely ovulate around the 16th day. Ovulation after the 21st day of the cycle is known as late ovulation. Late ovulation can occur due to an illness, hormones, general health issues, being overweight or underweight, stress, genetic issues, over-exercising and ovarian problems like polycystic ovaries.
