Follow these easy five steps to increase the accuracy of the early pregnancy test.
Collect your first-morning urine in a clean urine collection cup.
Remove the urine strip test from the packet, ensuring you do not touch the test end.
Place the Dip & Read pregnancy test into the urine to the max line (do not pass the max line).
Hold the test in the urine for 15 seconds or until you see the dye starting to move up the strip test.
Interpret the test results after 3 minutes but not after 5; after five minutes, the urine can start to dry, leading to evaporation lines that can sometimes be mistaken for a faint positive line.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many days in a row should I test for ovulation?
In Australia, it is generally recommended to test for ovulation daily once you’ve identified the start of your fertility window—typically midway through your menstrual cycle. Continue testing until the test detects an LH surge. Some women may need to test twice daily if their surge is brief to ensure they don’t miss it.
When is the best time to take a pregnancy test?
In short, on average, ten days after you ovulate. Ovulation generally occurs around day 15 of a 28-day cycle; the egg is typically fertilised in the fallopian tube. It reaches the uterus about the sixth day after conception, where it will implant and burrow itself into the endometrium. Once implantation occurs, the cells in the embryo will start to produce hCG, and hCG levels typically double every 24 -48 hours. With saying that implantation typically takes place anywhere between 6 and 12 days after you ovulate, we recommend starting to test from 10 days past ovulation to reduce the chances of the hCG levels being too low to detect on an early pregnancy test. This allows for the variance in your cycle with the timing of ovulation, fertilisation, and egg implantation. Testing with the first-morning urine provides a urine sample that is concentrated.
False positive on a home early detection test.
A true false positive result means that you aren’t pregnant. Still, the test says that you are, a false positive for all brands, including ours, isn’t impossible, but it’s extremely rare. The most common reason for a false-positive result is that you are experiencing a chemical pregnancy where the egg was fertilised but cannot implant into the endometrium. Chemical pregnancies may account for 50 to 70% of all conceptions. When using an early detection test, you can detect very low hCG levels in your system, increasing the chances of detecting a non-viable pregnancy. Other common reasons to get a false positive are if you are on fertility medication, had a recent miscarriage or have certain medication conditions such as a urinary tract infection (UTI) or ovarian cysts.
How to increase chances of getting pregnant
The best way to increase your odds of getting pregnant fast is to time your intercourse around your ovulation. If you have regular cycles, you will ovulate around two weeks before your period. Using ovulation tests to help detect your most fertile window and LH surge will increase your chances of falling pregnant. Use OPKs to monitor your cervix and cervical mucus and basal body thermometer. Ovulation predictor kits are considered one of the most accurate methods to detect ovulation.
Evaporation line on a pregnancy test
An evaporation line is, also known as an Evap Line, is a faint colourless streak that can occur on the tests, this is common when the hCG test has been left too long before reading the results. We recommend reading the test results after three minutes but not after five minutes as this increases the chances of an evap line. An evaporation line does not indicate that a woman is pregnant.
