You want to control the amount, reapply when needed and use one product across several fertile days.

Choose the applicators if

You prefer a pre-filled internal application with a measured 4 g amount and no separate measuring.

Fertility-lubricant guide

Fertility-friendly lubricant compared with regular lubricant

Some laboratory studies have found that certain lubricants reduce sperm motility or vitality, while the effect differs between products. Laboratory findings do not directly prove that a lubricant changes pregnancy or live-birth rates. When trying to conceive, check whether the product is specifically labelled and tested for sperm compatibility.

Do not confuse the terms: sperm-friendly lubricant is not the same as spermicide. Spermicides are contraceptive products intended to reduce the chance of pregnancy.

Trying-to-conceive routine

Where Conceive Plus may fit in your routine

Conceive Plus is an optional comfort product when lubrication is wanted. It does not replace ovulation tracking, pregnancy testing, semen analysis, fertility assessment or clinical advice.

Estimate fertile days

Use cycle dates, cervical mucus, ovulation tests or clinical advice to estimate when the fertile window may occur.

Use lubricant if wanted

Choose a fertility-friendly product if lubrication is needed during fertile days and follow the current label.

Test at the right time

If your period is late, use a pregnancy test according to its directions and repeat or seek advice when needed.

When to use

When should Conceive Plus be used?

Use Conceive Plus when lubrication is wanted during the fertile window. The fertile window includes the five days before ovulation and the day of ovulation. If you use an LH ovulation test, a positive result suggests that ovulation may be approaching, but it does not confirm that ovulation occurred.

Positive LH test

Many people prioritise intercourse on the day of a positive LH test and the following day while recognising that timing varies.

Cervical mucus changes

Clear, slippery or stretchy cervical mucus can be a sign that fertile days are approaching.

Variable cycles

If cycles vary, LH testing or clinical advice may provide more useful timing information than calendar dates alone.

Fertility treatment

Ask your clinic before using any lubricant around semen collection, IUI, IVF or embryo transfer.

Format overview

Tube

Use the tube when flexible amount control and repeat use suit your routine. Follow the label for application and reapplication.

Applicators

Use the applicators when you prefer a measured internal amount. Each applicator is single use and should be discarded after use.

General timing information only. Your product label, medical history and fertility-clinic instructions should take priority.

Product information and evidence

Why is Conceive Plus considered a fertility-friendly lubricant?

Conceive Plus is a water-based, pH-balanced and isotonic lubricant formulated with calcium and magnesium ions. It is designed to provide additional lubrication during sex while trying to conceive.

These formulation features may make Conceive Plus more compatible with sperm than many conventional personal lubricants. However, they do not mean that the lubricant causes pregnancy, improves fertility or treats infertility.

Two-stage in-vitro Conceive Plus sperm-compatibility timeline from initial exposure to two hours
Illustration of the in-vitro testing period used to assess sperm viability and motility after exposure to fertility lubricant.

pH-balanced formula

The vaginal environment and cervical mucus naturally change throughout the menstrual cycle. Conceive Plus has a pH-balanced formula designed for use by couples who are trying to conceive.

Isotonic formulation

An isotonic lubricant has an osmolality designed to be closer to that of the body’s natural fluids. This may make it less disruptive to sperm than some conventional lubricants with a higher osmolality.

Calcium and magnesium ions

Conceive Plus contains calcium and magnesium ions as part of its patented formulation. These minerals are naturally present in reproductive fluids and are involved in normal sperm function.

Independent laboratory evidence

A 2014 in-vitro study compared the effects of several lubricants on sperm function. Of the products tested, Conceive Plus had the second-smallest negative effect on sperm motility and vitality, following Pre-Seed.

The study also found no significant effect on sperm DNA integrity under the laboratory conditions used.

Manufacturer laboratory testing

Conceive Plus reports that its laboratory testing found 99% sperm viability after two hours of exposure to the lubricant.

This result relates to sperm viability in controlled laboratory conditions. It should not be interpreted as a pregnancy success rate or evidence that Conceive Plus increases the likelihood of conception.

Understanding the evidence

Most research into fertility-friendly lubricants measures sperm motility, vitality, viability or DNA integrity in a laboratory.

These studies can help identify whether a lubricant is less harmful to sperm than conventional alternatives. They do not establish that using a particular lubricant improves natural-conception, clinical-pregnancy or live-birth rates.

What Conceive Plus can and cannot do

It can provide additional lubrication

Conceive Plus can supplement natural lubrication when additional comfort or glide is needed during sex while trying to conceive.

It cannot guarantee pregnancy

Using a fertility-friendly lubricant does not guarantee conception. Pregnancy depends on many factors, including ovulation, intercourse timing, sperm health, egg health, age, reproductive anatomy and underlying medical conditions.

It does not treat infertility

Conceive Plus is a personal lubricant and is not a treatment for infertility.

Consider speaking with a GP or fertility specialist after 12 months of trying to conceive if the female partner is under 35, or after six months if she is 35 or older. Seek advice sooner if there are irregular or absent periods, a known reproductive condition, concerns about sperm health or other fertility-related symptoms.

It is not contraception

Conceive Plus is not a spermicide and does not prevent pregnancy. It should not be used as a form of contraception.

Always read the label and follow the directions for use. Stop using the product and seek medical advice if you experience irritation, burning, unusual discharge, pelvic pain or another concerning symptom.

Frequently asked questions

Conceive Plus FAQs

Answers about choosing, using and buying Conceive Plus fertility lubricant in Australia.

Which Conceive Plus format should I buy?

Choose the 75 mL tube if you want flexible amount control and repeat use. Choose the 8 × 4 g applicators if you prefer a pre-measured, single-use internal application. Both contain Conceive Plus fertility lubricant.

What is a fertility-friendly lubricant?

A fertility-friendly lubricant is a personal lubricant made for use while trying to conceive. It is formulated and tested for sperm compatibility rather than only for glide or longer-lasting moisture.

Is Conceive Plus sperm friendly?

Conceive Plus is marketed and tested as a sperm-friendly fertility lubricant. The manufacturer describes it as water-based, pH-balanced and isotonic, with calcium and magnesium ions. Laboratory testing does not prove that it increases pregnancy or live-birth rates.

How do I use the Conceive Plus tube?

Follow the label supplied with the product. The manufacturer directs users to apply a small amount before intercourse and reapply as needed. Check the seal before first use and stop if the product causes irritation.

How do I use the Conceive Plus applicators?

Follow the label supplied with the product. Each applicator is single use and contains 4 g. The manufacturer directs users to insert the narrow end, squeeze the bulb to deposit the lubricant, remove it while continuing to squeeze, and discard it after use.

How is Conceive Plus different from regular lubricant?

Regular personal lubricants are usually designed mainly for comfort or glide. Conceive Plus is positioned for people trying to conceive and has been assessed in laboratory studies for its effects on sperm function. Product effects vary, and laboratory findings do not directly establish pregnancy rates.

Is Conceive Plus spermicidal?

No. Conceive Plus is not a spermicide or contraceptive. Spermicides are intended to reduce the chance of pregnancy, while Conceive Plus is sold as a sperm-friendly lubricant for people trying to conceive.

When should I use Conceive Plus?

Use it when lubrication is wanted during the fertile window. The fertile window includes the five days before ovulation and the day of ovulation. If you use LH tests, a positive result suggests ovulation may be approaching but does not confirm that ovulation occurred.

Does Conceive Plus help you get pregnant?

Conceive Plus does not cause pregnancy or treat infertility. Its role is to provide lubrication designed to have less adverse effect on sperm function than some ordinary lubricants in laboratory testing. Ovulation, timing, sperm health, egg health, age and other medical factors still affect conception.

Can I use Conceive Plus with ovulation tests?

Yes. Ovulation tests can help identify an LH surge, while Conceive Plus can be used if lubrication is wanted during the fertile window. An LH test helps with timing but does not confirm ovulation.

Can I use Conceive Plus with IUI or IVF?

Ask your fertility clinic before using any lubricant around semen collection, IUI, IVF or embryo transfer. Clinics may have procedure-specific instructions, and those instructions should take priority.

What should I do if Conceive Plus causes irritation?

Stop using it and seek advice from a GP, pharmacist or fertility clinician if you develop burning, irritation, unusual discharge, pelvic pain or any symptom that concerns you.

Can I use Conceive Plus during pregnancy?

This page addresses use while trying to conceive, not use during pregnancy. If you are pregnant, check the current label and ask your GP, midwife or pharmacist before use, particularly if you have pain, bleeding, irritation or symptoms of infection.

Can I buy Conceive Plus online in Australia?

Yes. Fertility2Family sells the Conceive Plus 75 mL tube and 8 × 4 g applicators online with discreet packaging and Australia-wide delivery options.

This stuff is amazing! I have never had a regular cycle, and after our 1st my doctor told me I would probably never have anymore children. We were beyond excited when we found out we were expecting(after 4 years of trying)! After only 8 weeks we lost our little one. We tried and tried for another 2 years without success. I seen an advertisement for this stuff. I thought, what could it hurt. So we have it a try. After using conceive plus for 9 weeks, we found out that I was 3 weeks!!

It was our hope, we had been looking for our baby since our wedding and spent months trying to conceive and trying to search for our son or daughter. Thanks to conceive plus, we were able to achieve this on the first attempt, even though we used it without much hope and with few expectations. We would like a lot of people to be able to do it like us and even with little hope they will try it.

“My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 3 years. I started using Conceive Plus in December I believe.

February 23rd I was one day late so I took a test and it was positive! I took 3 more and all positive! I scheduled an

appointment the following Wednesday (3/1) and the doctor confirmed that I am in fact pregnant. 4/5 weeks along.

Thank you :)”

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for nearly 2 years, with no success. We had no identifiable issues and so reconciled with ourselves the prospect of IVF. My mother suggested this product and as we had nothing to lose I gave it a go (hubby had no idea). Less than a month later my pregnancy test is telling us we're 1-2 weeks pregnant. It's early days of course but this product has had to be part of the solution. We're delighted.

My wife and I always needed lubricating gel during the act and we had been using the cheap Wal-Mart version by Equate. However we noticed that the gel wasn't really compatible with semen (or the semen wasn't very soluble in the gel) and so the gel would cause the whole thing to flow out of her as soon as I exited. So we decided to change gels and I looked around on Amazon, read reviews, got this, and GBAM!, she got pregnant the first time! Just like magic right? And don't worry, if you don't get it the first time you will eventually get it, ok? Miracles happen, so keep believing.

I just turned 37 years old and my husband and I are trying to conceive. As I have gotten older, things have not been working as... smoothly as they used to. I also have sensitive skin so a lot of products have not worked for us. This has exceeded my best expectations. No irritation what so ever and it does not get sticky or gummy. Hopefully, we will get pregnant. If so, I will post an update. Highly recommend this product!
