What To Expect From Home Ovulation Tests
Our ovulation tests identify periods of maximum fertility by detecting a specific hormone in a user’s urine. Luteinising hormone (or LH) in the urine increases before ovulation leading to a clear spike that says, ‘It’s a great time to conceive!’
If your home ovulation test gives a positive result, it’s an optimum time for intercourse and fertilisation. If the result is negative, you can confidently start planning for the next window of opportunity.
Home ovulation tests are simple, discreet and accurate. A positive result means that 6 to 24 hours of maximum fertility is about to start. With the ease and convenience of our pocket-sized kits, you’ll never miss the window of opportunity again. Countless studies have shown that ovulation tracking is a highly effective way to conceive.
How to Use Easy Home Ovulation Tests
Our easy home ovulation tests can be used in four quick steps. Even so, we send every customer a downloadable ovulation test instructions guide with detailed answers on When to use an ovulation test? How to use an instream ovulation test, and even interpret a home ovulation test results.
These tests are non-invasive, but we want you to feel completely comfortable and confident every step of the way. The Midstream Ovulation Test instructions also include tips on what point in your menstrual cycle to perform a home ovulation test.
Each instream ovulation stick comes individually wrapped. To use a home ovulation test, first, remove it from its wrapper.
Care not to touch the absorbent tip. Carefully remove the protective cap. You mustn’t touch the exposed tip because you might contaminate the sample and get an unreliable result.
Holding the test stick underneath your urine stream – like you would if you were taking a pregnancy test – urinate onto the absorbent tip until it is saturated. When you’re finished, replace the protective cap, place the test stick (facing up) on a flat surface and wash your hands.
How to Interpret a Home Ovulation Test
Fertility2Family’s easy home ovulation tests detect the presence of (luteinising hormone) LH in urine within 40 seconds. This is all the time you need to wait for a result.
Two coloured lines denote a POSITIVE result. If the ovulation stick is positive, you’ll be able to see these lines appear very quickly. The result means you’ll ovulate within the next 12 to 36 hours and should plan accordingly if you want to get pregnant.
A NEGATIVE result is denoted by a single coloured line next to the word Control. We recommend you wait ten minutes after performing the test if the result appears negative. In some rare cases, it can take a little longer than expected for a positive result to develop, so it’s best to wait until the chemicals have fully developed as per the test instructions.
If there are two lines, but the Test line is much lighter than the Control line, the result is likely negative. Both lines on a positive ovulation stick are consistent in colour.
