Why choose this fertility test kit?

This combined fertility test kit keeps the two urine tests and their collection cups in one pack. It suits customers who want enough LH strips to test around the fertile window, enough hCG strips to test when a period is due, and one fresh cup for every supplied strip. The tests remain separate. Each has its own pouch, timing and result rules.

50 LH ovulation strips

Use the LH strips before expected ovulation to look for a rise in luteinising hormone. Fifty strips allow room to start before the expected fertile window, test again when timing shifts, or continue into another cycle. A positive LH result may show that ovulation is approaching. It does not prove that ovulation happened and should not be used for contraception.

50 hCG pregnancy strips

Use the hCG strips from the day your period is due for the most reliable home result. Fifty individually wrapped strips give you room to repeat a test according to the directions when an early result is negative or unclear. A pregnancy strip detects hCG. It does not explain pain, bleeding or the location or health of a pregnancy.

100 disposable cups

The kit supplies one cup for each of the 100 dip strips. Use a new, clean cup for each test, then discard it. This removes the need to find a suitable container each time and helps keep the dip depth and handling routine consistent. The cups do not change test performance; correct timing and use still matter.

At A$65, the kit saves A$21 against the current A$86 combined RRP while keeping both test types and one cup for every strip together. Choose it when you need LH and hCG testing. If you need only one test type, the dedicated ovulation-strip or pregnancy-strip pack is the clearer buy.

How the fertility test kit fits across a cycle

The pack covers two different questions at two different stages. LH strips help identify a hormone rise before expected ovulation. hCG strips test for a pregnancy hormone after conception may have occurred. The optional BBT thermometer records waking temperature across the cycle. Using more than one method can give you more context, but no home test can guarantee ovulation, conception or a healthy pregnancy.

Before expected ovulation

Use the cycle-length guide in the LH strip directions to choose a start day. Test at a consistent time and keep the strip sealed until you are ready. Collect urine in a fresh cup, dip only to the marked line and read the strip inside the stated time window. Starting before the day you expect ovulation reduces the chance of missing an earlier LH rise.

Around the LH rise

An LH result is positive when the test line meets the rule shown in the supplied directions. A lighter line is not a positive result. Some people test more than once a day near the expected rise, but you should stay within the instructions. Hydration, timing, cycle variation and some health or treatment factors can affect the pattern you see.

From the day your period is due

Use a separate hCG strip when your period is due. Follow its own dip and read times rather than the LH instructions. Testing too early can produce a negative result because hCG may still be below the strip's detection level. If your period remains absent, repeat only as directed or speak with a GP about the right next step.

Do not compare the darkness of an LH line with an hCG line. The strips detect different hormones and answer different questions. Labelled pouches help you choose the correct strip. Check the test name, expiry date and pouch condition before opening it. Do not use a strip when the pouch is damaged or the expiry date has passed.

The pack contains 100 cups because it contains 100 dip strips. Use one fresh cup for one testing session and discard it after use. Follow the directions if you plan to run more than one test. In most cycles, LH and hCG testing takes place on different days, so there is usually no reason to use both strip types together.

Using LH strips, pregnancy strips and optional BBT

Each method records a different part of cycle timing. The A$65 kit keeps LH and hCG testing ready across the fertile window and the wait for a pregnancy result. Add the reusable 0.01°C BBT thermometer when you also want to chart waking temperature over time. The A$80 set currently includes free Australia-wide tracked shipping.

LH strips look ahead

An LH rise can happen before ovulation, so the strip is used around the expected fertile window. It is a urine hormone test, not a pregnancy test. A positive result does not show the exact time an egg is released, prove that release occurred or measure egg quality.

BBT records a later pattern

Take basal temperature as soon as you wake, before sitting up, eating, drinking or moving around. Record it at about the same time each day. Look at the pattern across several days rather than one reading. Sleep changes, illness, alcohol, travel, shift work and measurement timing can affect the chart.

hCG strips test after

An hCG strip is used when a period is due or later. A positive result means the strip detected hCG under the test conditions. A negative result can occur when testing happens too early. Home testing does not replace medical assessment when symptoms, medicines, fertility treatment or cycle changes need individual advice.

BBT remains optional because many customers prefer a simple urine-test kit. Choose it if a daily waking-temperature chart would add useful context to your routine. The thermometer can be reused across cycles, while the strips and cups are single use. Adding BBT does not change the 50 LH strips, 50 hCG strips or 100 cups in the kit.

Fertility test kit FAQs

These answers cover the combined pack. The instructions supplied with each strip remain the source for dip time, read time, storage and result rules.

What comes in the 50 + 50 fertility test kit?
The A$65 pack contains 50 individually wrapped LH ovulation test strips, 50 individually wrapped hCG pregnancy test strips and 100 disposable urine collection cups. The current combined RRP is A$86, so the kit saves A$21. Separate directions explain how to use and read each test. The basal thermometer is optional. Choose the A$80 set when you also want reusable BBT tracking and free Australia-wide tracked shipping.
Does one strip test for both ovulation and pregnancy?
No. An LH strip tests urine for luteinising hormone around the expected fertile window. An hCG strip tests urine for human chorionic gonadotropin when a period is due. They are separate devices with different labelled pouches, timing and result rules. Do not use the LH directions to read an hCG strip or compare the line strength between the two test types.
When should I start using the LH ovulation strips?
Use the cycle-length chart in the supplied LH directions to choose your start day. Begin before the day you expect ovulation rather than waiting for that day. Cycles can shift, even when they are usually regular. Fifty strips give you room to start earlier, continue for several days or test in another cycle. If your cycles are very irregular or you are unsure when to begin, ask a GP for individual advice.
How do I read a positive LH strip?
Read the strip only inside the time window stated in the directions. A positive result follows the line rule shown in those directions, which compares the test line with the control line. A faint or lighter test line is usually not positive. Ignore changes that appear after the read window. If no control line appears, treat the test as invalid and repeat with a new strip as directed.
Can an LH strip confirm that I ovulated?
No. The strip detects an LH rise that may occur before ovulation. It cannot show that an egg was released or identify the exact time of ovulation. A surge can occur without confirmed ovulation. PCOS, irregular cycles, recent pregnancy and some fertility medicines may also affect LH patterns. Speak with a GP or fertility clinician when results remain unclear or do not fit your cycle.
When should I use a pregnancy test strip?
Use an hCG strip from the day your period is due for the most reliable home result. Follow the pregnancy strip directions, even if you have already used the LH strips. Testing before a period is due can give a negative result when hCG is still too low to detect. If you do not know when your period is due, or your cycles vary widely, ask a GP when to test.
What should I do after a negative pregnancy result?
A negative result means hCG was not detected at the test threshold at that time. It does not always rule out pregnancy, especially after early testing. Check the expiry date, test timing, dip line and read window. If your period does not start, repeat the test only as directed or speak with a GP. Seek care sooner when you have pain, bleeding, dizziness or feel unwell.
What should I do after a positive pregnancy result?
Read the result within the stated time window and follow the supplied directions. Arrange care with a GP or other suitable health professional to discuss the next steps, medicines and health questions. A home hCG strip cannot show where a pregnancy is located or whether it is progressing normally. Urgent symptoms need assessment regardless of the line strength or any earlier home result.
How does the optional BBT thermometer work with this kit?
The optional thermometer adds a daily waking-temperature record to the LH and hCG testing stages. Take the reading as soon as you wake and before getting out of bed. Record it at about the same time each day and look for a pattern over several days. BBT may help with retrospective cycle tracking, but it does not predict the exact moment of ovulation or test for pregnancy.
Can BBT, LH and hCG results be affected by other factors?
Yes. Urine concentration, testing time, cycle variation, PCOS, recent pregnancy and some medicines or fertility treatments may affect urine-test patterns. Illness, poor sleep, alcohol, travel, shift work and taking a temperature at a different time can affect BBT. Follow each device's directions and avoid drawing a conclusion from one strip or one temperature. Ask your clinician about medicines and treatment-specific testing.
How should I store the strips and thermometer?
Keep each strip sealed in its pouch until use. Store the tests in a dry place within the temperature range on the label, away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture. Check the expiry date and pouch before every test. Do not use an expired strip or a strip from a damaged pouch. Store and clean the thermometer according to its instructions, and keep all items away from children.
Is this kit suitable if I have PCOS or irregular cycles?
The pack gives you more strips for repeat testing, but extra strips do not remove the limits of home testing. PCOS and irregular cycles can make an LH pattern harder to interpret, and some people may see repeated rises. Recent pregnancy and fertility medicines can also affect results. Use the directions and ask a GP or fertility clinician for advice that accounts for your history, medicines and treatment plan.
Can I use this fertility test kit for contraception?
No. Do not use LH strips, BBT or this kit to prevent pregnancy. An LH rise does not define every fertile day, and ovulation timing can change. The hCG strips test for pregnancy after the relevant time; they do not prevent it. Speak with a GP, pharmacist or sexual health service about a contraceptive method that suits your health, preferences and plans.
How are orders packed and delivered in Australia?
Orders leave in plain outer packaging with Australia Post tracking, so the parcel exterior does not name the fertility products. Delivery is calculated at checkout for the standard A$65 kit. Add the BBT thermometer and the A$80 set currently includes free Australia-wide tracked shipping. Dispatch and arrival times can vary by destination and Australia Post conditions.
When should I seek urgent medical care?
Get urgent medical help if you may be pregnant and have strong or one-sided abdominal pain, shoulder-tip pain, heavy bleeding, dizziness, fainting or feel very unwell. Call 000 in an emergency or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not wait for another home test. A positive, negative or faint strip result cannot rule out an ectopic pregnancy or another condition that needs prompt assessment.

Best LH tests I’ve tried

I have a fairly short lasting LH peak so it can be difficult to catch. I’ve been using these LH tests 2-3 times a day near my expected ovulation day the past 3 cycles and it has accurately detected LH peak (and ovulation was subsequently confirmed by a progesterone blood test 7 days later).

Accurate to 2 decimal places. Easy to use. The most effective way for us to track ovulation, especially as hormonal tracking did not work for us- and now a handy thermometer for our little one!

Very accurate- precise and fast

The Basal thermometer I have found to be very precise and super accurate because it has the 2 decimal places.

Very accurate and helps me know when I ovulate

I brought one of the packs which came with ovulation, pregnancy tests and BBT. Instructions are easy I am still learning how to track my BBT but has helped me confirm that I have ovulated which is nice to know.

Then I heard about these basal thermometers so I started using them and charting my results and then I conceived in 4 cycles.

Helped me to learn my unique cycle

The strips helped me immensely in understanding my cycle, which was not quite the standard.

Best LH tests I have tried

I have a fairly short lasting LH peak so it can be difficult to catch.

The best I have used

After months of tracking I soon had accuracy of ovulation to the day, as confirmed by FS with bloods and scans.

LH strips detect luteinising hormone in urine. An LH rise may suggest that ovulation is approaching, but it does not confirm ovulation. hCG strips detect human chorionic gonadotropin in urine. Test from the day your period is due for the most reliable pregnancy result. Testing earlier can produce a false negative.
