ReviewingOvulation test strips
Affordable and effective
I have been using the ovulation strips for a few months and have been able to identify ovulation easily. Being cheap means I can test multiple times a day to catch the LH surge.

Optional BBT thermometer · +A$15

Keep ovulation testing and pregnancy testing ready in one value kit. You receive 50 individually wrapped LH strips for fertile-window tracking, 50 individually wrapped hCG strips for testing from the day your period is due, and 100 cups so every supplied strip has a fresh cup ready.
Better value together
Bring 50 ovulation strips, 50 pregnancy strips and 100 cups together for A$65, saving A$21 against the current A$86 combined RRP. Add the reusable 0.01°C BBT thermometer for A$15 when you also want waking-temperature tracking. The A$80 set includes free Australia-wide tracked shipping.
Purchase this kit if you want: both test types, one cup for every strip and A$21 off the current A$86 combined RRP.
Save A$21 · Australia Post tracked delivery · Plain outer packaging
ALWAYS READ THE LABEL AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS FOR USE.
Step-by-step guidance covers when to test, how to dip each strip and how to read the result clearly.

Keep both strip types and 100 cups ready for A$65 instead of the current A$86 combined RRP.

Orders arrive in plain outer packaging that does not display the product details.
This combined fertility test kit keeps the two urine tests and their collection cups in one pack. It suits customers who want enough LH strips to test around the fertile window, enough hCG strips to test when a period is due, and one fresh cup for every supplied strip. The tests remain separate. Each has its own pouch, timing and result rules.
50 LH ovulation strips
Use the LH strips before expected ovulation to look for a rise in luteinising hormone. Fifty strips allow room to start before the expected fertile window, test again when timing shifts, or continue into another cycle. A positive LH result may show that ovulation is approaching. It does not prove that ovulation happened and should not be used for contraception.
50 hCG pregnancy strips
Use the hCG strips from the day your period is due for the most reliable home result. Fifty individually wrapped strips give you room to repeat a test according to the directions when an early result is negative or unclear. A pregnancy strip detects hCG. It does not explain pain, bleeding or the location or health of a pregnancy.
100 disposable cups
The kit supplies one cup for each of the 100 dip strips. Use a new, clean cup for each test, then discard it. This removes the need to find a suitable container each time and helps keep the dip depth and handling routine consistent. The cups do not change test performance; correct timing and use still matter.
At A$65, the kit saves A$21 against the current A$86 combined RRP while keeping both test types and one cup for every strip together. Choose it when you need LH and hCG testing. If you need only one test type, the dedicated ovulation-strip or pregnancy-strip pack is the clearer buy.
The pack covers two different questions at two different stages. LH strips help identify a hormone rise before expected ovulation. hCG strips test for a pregnancy hormone after conception may have occurred. The optional BBT thermometer records waking temperature across the cycle. Using more than one method can give you more context, but no home test can guarantee ovulation, conception or a healthy pregnancy.
Before expected ovulation
Use the cycle-length guide in the LH strip directions to choose a start day. Test at a consistent time and keep the strip sealed until you are ready. Collect urine in a fresh cup, dip only to the marked line and read the strip inside the stated time window. Starting before the day you expect ovulation reduces the chance of missing an earlier LH rise.
Around the LH rise
An LH result is positive when the test line meets the rule shown in the supplied directions. A lighter line is not a positive result. Some people test more than once a day near the expected rise, but you should stay within the instructions. Hydration, timing, cycle variation and some health or treatment factors can affect the pattern you see.
From the day your period is due
Use a separate hCG strip when your period is due. Follow its own dip and read times rather than the LH instructions. Testing too early can produce a negative result because hCG may still be below the strip's detection level. If your period remains absent, repeat only as directed or speak with a GP about the right next step.
Do not compare the darkness of an LH line with an hCG line. The strips detect different hormones and answer different questions. Labelled pouches help you choose the correct strip. Check the test name, expiry date and pouch condition before opening it. Do not use a strip when the pouch is damaged or the expiry date has passed.
The pack contains 100 cups because it contains 100 dip strips. Use one fresh cup for one testing session and discard it after use. Follow the directions if you plan to run more than one test. In most cycles, LH and hCG testing takes place on different days, so there is usually no reason to use both strip types together.
Each method records a different part of cycle timing. The A$65 kit keeps LH and hCG testing ready across the fertile window and the wait for a pregnancy result. Add the reusable 0.01°C BBT thermometer when you also want to chart waking temperature over time. The A$80 set currently includes free Australia-wide tracked shipping.
LH strips look ahead
An LH rise can happen before ovulation, so the strip is used around the expected fertile window. It is a urine hormone test, not a pregnancy test. A positive result does not show the exact time an egg is released, prove that release occurred or measure egg quality.
BBT records a later pattern
Take basal temperature as soon as you wake, before sitting up, eating, drinking or moving around. Record it at about the same time each day. Look at the pattern across several days rather than one reading. Sleep changes, illness, alcohol, travel, shift work and measurement timing can affect the chart.
hCG strips test after
An hCG strip is used when a period is due or later. A positive result means the strip detected hCG under the test conditions. A negative result can occur when testing happens too early. Home testing does not replace medical assessment when symptoms, medicines, fertility treatment or cycle changes need individual advice.
BBT remains optional because many customers prefer a simple urine-test kit. Choose it if a daily waking-temperature chart would add useful context to your routine. The thermometer can be reused across cycles, while the strips and cups are single use. Adding BBT does not change the 50 LH strips, 50 hCG strips or 100 cups in the kit.
Use the separate ovulation strip directions and pregnancy strip directions. Need one product only? Shop ovulation test strips, pregnancy test strips or urine collection cups.
These answers cover the combined pack. The instructions supplied with each strip remain the source for dip time, read time, storage and result rules.
Australian customers review the Fertility2Family LH strips, hCG strips and optional BBT thermometer featured in this kit. Each review card states the product reviewed. Individual experiences vary and do not guarantee ovulation, pregnancy or conception.

I have a fairly short lasting LH peak so it can be difficult to catch. I’ve been using these LH tests 2-3 times a day near my expected ovulation day the past 3 cycles and it has accurately detected LH peak (and ovulation was subsequently confirmed by a progesterone blood test 7 days later).

LH strips detect luteinising hormone in urine. An LH rise may suggest that ovulation is approaching, but it does not confirm ovulation. hCG strips detect human chorionic gonadotropin in urine. Test from the day your period is due for the most reliable pregnancy result. Testing earlier can produce a false negative.
Fertility2Family clinical chemistry hormone IVDs are included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods under ARTG ID 317593. The optional electronic thermometer is included under ARTG ID 390003. ARTG inclusion is not TGA endorsement.
