Midstream Ovulation Tests
The ovulation tests we provide are excellent at detecting the presence of the luteinising hormone in your urine. This hormone increases dramatically halfway through your menstrual cycle and is responsible for triggering the ovaries to release an egg. So if you get a positive result, your LH hormone levels are spiking, and ovulation will occur within a day or two.
A positive result predicts the most fertile days of your menstrual cycle, which assists you in scheduling intercourse accordingly to increase your chances of conception. This is important because an egg can only be fertilised within 6 to 24 hours after it leaves the ovary, so you don’t want to miss the opportunity to have a child soon.
How to use ovulation tests
Choosing a convenient time to conduct the test is the key to getting reliable results when using the ovulation predictor kit (OPK). You must test simultaneously every day until you notice that your LH levels have increased. For the best results, test between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. This is because the levels of luteinising hormone in your urine are the highest. If you test in the morning, you will likely miss the LH surge even if you are already in your fertile window.
Here are steps to follow while doing your test:
- Remove the midstream ovulation test from the pouch, then remove the cap.
- Hold the ovulation test by the handle, and ensure the absorbent tip points downwards. Place the tip on your urine stream for 15 seconds or until thoroughly wet.
- Replace the cap on your device after removing it from the urine stream and place it on a flat surface. Make sure the window is facing upwards and start timing.
- With our rapid ovulation tests, you should be able to get results within as little as 40 seconds, but a negative result may take up to 10 minutes. Remember, you cannot read the results after 10 minutes, so make sure you have a timer to get the proper readings at the recommended time.
How to interpret ovulation test results
Positive for LH surge – Two colour bands indicate the results. The test band must be as dark or darker as the control band. You should be ovulating within 24 to 36 hours after a positive result. Sexual intercourse should be done right after noticing an LH spike and getting a positive ovulation test.
Negative for LH surge – If you notice two lines on your device, but the test band appears less intense than the control band, or it’s not present, then the luteinising hormone levels are normal. You should continue testing until you get a positive test.
Invalid results occur when no control line appears within 10 minutes of using the test. If you get such a result, you should ignore it and repeat the test with a new device.
Midstream pregnancy tests
Our highly sensitive pregnancy midstream tests are another product in this fertility kit. Our pregnancy tests are among the most sensitive Australian markets, allowing you to test for early pregnancy.
These tests check for the presence of the pregnancy hormone or human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in a urine sample. Normally, the concentration of the pregnancy hormone in a woman who has not conceived is usually low, at about 5mIU. After fertilisation and implantation, the levels of the hCG hormone increase dramatically.
Our midstream test kits have a 10mIU sensitivity of hCG, making it easy to detect pregnancy as early as five to seven days before missing the periods. Nonetheless, we recommend testing with first-morning urine if you decide to check for pregnancy before missing periods because hCG levels are still low.
How to take a pregnancy test?
With all our pregnancy tests, we offer detailed instructions covering the frequently asked questions on how to use a pregnancy test, when to take a pregnancy test and what a faint line on a pregnancy test means.
You can complete a pregnancy test in three easy steps, as we have designed our pregnancy tests to be the easiest.
- Open the sealed pouch to remove the pregnancy testing device and remove the cap.
- Hold the pregnancy stick with the absorbent tip facing downwards and direct it towards your urine stream for 15 seconds. If you use a urine collection cup, ensure the pregnancy stick absorbs enough urine for the test.
- Replace the cap and place the test kit flat on a surface, and Results may be observed after 1 minute. Do not interpret test results after 5 minutes.
If the result is positive, you will notice two lines on the window, meaning you have hCG in your urine and are pregnant. You’ll get only one line (the control band) if the result is negative. This means you do not have enough hCG in your urine or aren’t pregnant. We recommend waiting two or three days before testing with a new kit. If there are no visible lines, the result is invalid, and you should test again with another test kit.
Our ovulation thermometer will ensure you do not keep guessing your ovulation days like ours. It will pinpoint the days when you’re most fertile, so you can have sex at the right time to conceive. Our ovulation thermometer is affordable and easy to use. Take your temperature when the body is resting or as soon as you wake up.
The device comes with features such as:
- Beeps to notify you that the temperature has been successfully read
- A memory function that lets you read the results later on
- An automatic shut-off that helps preserve the device’s battery life
- A plastic travel case for keeping the thermometer safe
So just set the alarm, and once you wake, put the best ovulation thermometer in your mouth and sleep till you hear the beep. After the temperature has been taken, you may remove the device from your mouth and continue sleeping until you’re ready to start your day. The automatic shut-off will kick in and preserve the battery life, while the memory function will save test results so you can record the readings later on your temperature chart after waking up.
We provide ovulation thermometer instructions and a basal body temperature tracking chart with every purchase. The thermometer also comes with batteries, so you won’t have to worry about buying them separately.
How Do You Use a BBT Chart to Pinpoint Ovulation?
You can also rely on a basal body temperature chart to determine your ovulation and increase your chances of conceiving alongside your ovulation tests. This is why we provide everything you need to track your ovulation with your new BBT and to understand your basal temperature readings.
When charting your temps on your basal thermometer temps, the chart will assist you in tracking fluctuations in the basal body temperature after using an ovulation thermometer. You need to take a reading, record it, and check how the temperature fluctuates to determine when you will most likely conceive.
BBT chart to track your ovulation
Although using a BBT chart to track your ovulation day is pretty easy and requires a lot of dedication, this is because the basal body temperature needs to be taken in the middle of the night or first thing after waking up. You need to do this test while lying down – do not sit up, talk, or take water. After taking the test, you should record the readings on the chart provided to make it easier to analyse later. The basal body temperature rises approximately half a degree right after ovulation. If the increase remains steady for three days or more, assuming you have ovulated is safe.
Therefore, look for that trend; you will notice days when the temperatures are high and low. Ensure you have sex when you are most fertile – ovulation happens a day or two before the basal body temperature rises. If you notice that the temperature increases on the 15th day of your cycle, you likely ovulate on the 13th and 14th day of the cycle—plan to have sex on the days you’re ovulating to give yourself a fair chance to conceive. Use ovulation tests and a basal thermometer.
